Soleil Tan De Chanel

Ok. So I am really excited to be writing this post because I've finally got my mitts on Chanel's Soleil Tan De Chanel! I was literally looking for this for about five months nonstop and every time I passed a Chanel counter my heart would flutter with hopes of finally finding it but it was always out of stock, sad I know. But for something really sad, you should have seen my face when the mystical rumour appeared that it had been discontinued!
Anyway, as some of you know, my boyfriend had been away working for a few weeks and while he was in the airport on his way home HE FOUND IT!!! See, they do listen sometimes.. lots of brownie points in time for valentines day (by the way, I'd love to hear you guys' gift suggestions for V day!). I'd love to think that this was a spontaneous caring act of affection,  but I'm pretty sure it was just to shut me up and so that he would never be dragged at 100mph towards a Chanel counter ever again.

This is my first cream bronzer and isn't quite a mousse like I imagined because of how it looks, but more of a hard liquid (if that's possible!). Chanel call it a light cream-gel bronzer. Or in my boyfriends technical words "It looks like poo"- he's such a make up guru, he should be the one writing a blog, don't you think?

This has got a lovely velvety finish to give a sun-kissed look. There are a few different ways to wear this, on its own as a foundation to enhance your complexion, under your foundation as a tanned base or even over your foundation.

This should be applied with a brush, not reeeeally your fingers but I guess you could :). I've seen lots of people apply this with MAC and Sigma Kabuki's. I'm still undecided about which brush to use but I'm so excited to get stuck in to this properly!

If you're lucky enough to get your hands on this before it sells out for half the year again (or like me, you have a boyfriend that hates you complaining!) you can pick up 30ml for £29 or $48 respectively. Persistence is key- Good Luck!

P.S. Hello all 205 of you! WOW

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Soft & Gentle

While I was on a bit of a roll with the Mineralize Blushes, I naturally gravitated towards my favourite things... yep, highlighters. I picked up the MSF in Soft & Gentle for £21.50, this is really beautiful and delicate, again like my Mineralize Blush in Dainty very easy to wear. Well done MAC.

I apply this over my cheek bones, brow bone, along my nose to contour and sometimes on my collar bone. I find that this works perfectly over a matte foundation like Chanel's Perfection Lumiere to finish the whole look off.

This highlighter is pretty peachy and definitely carries some champagne tones. It can look a little bronze in some lighting, but I wouldn't say it would be too dark to wear if applied in the right places :) however if you have a darker skin tone I would recommend trying the darker version of this in Gold Deposit which is more golden toned.. hence the name!

I will let the swatches finish off.. they really do speak for themselves..

This is slowly working its way in to top highlighters, I know OMG! Haha, seeing as I'm always on the hunt for more, what are your favourites?

MAC Mineralize Blush in Dainty

As pretty much all of my regular readers know, I love highlighters. Or pretty much any cheek product with shimmer, think Sleek's blush that I raved about and Benefit's high beam. It had been a while since my last MAC blush and the Mineralized ones have always caught my eye (shimmer!). Dainty was by far my favourite shade, a light yellow pink with gold pearl.

Packaging is normal, sleek and black. I love MAC's compacts because of the little plastic window you get so you can locate whatever you're after quickly without having to scan the packaging for labels!

The shimmer is gorgeous and not too over the top which is a winner in my books. The name 'Dainty' suits it well, delicate small and pretty, a quick sweep over the apples of my cheeks and it warms up my whole face. I think this is a lot of people's favourite MAC blush just because it is so wearable and inoffensive.

If you like dainty things like me, you can pick this up for £19 at your nearest MAC counter.

MAC Zoom Fast Black Lash Mascara

There are pretty mixed reviews floating around about MAC's mascaras, you either love them or hate them. So naturally I was pretty apprehensive to try this mascara, I went for the most average one, the Zoom Fast Black Lash.

The mascara is sleek and compact and looks pretty normal packaging wise, nothing particularly eye catching. The mascara (8g) is in a black rubberised tube with a little shimmer.

The wand is thin and tapered towards the end which gives a super lengthening effect but because of this I didn't get much curve in my lashes, I usually go for a fatter brush with bigger bristles.

Colour pigmentation is fantastic, a very intense black and there is something dramatic about the way it performs. However I found the formula pretty thick and clumpy and really difficult to fully remove. I guess that could also be a plus as it would literally stay on forever I reckon, great for all your party animals.

I am going to keep using this and pair it with a smokey eye for a more dramatic look, but I can't be doing with the hassle of removing it every day. I still want to try the other MAC mascaras and see how they perform! Next on my list is the False Lashes Extreme Black. You can pick this mascara up at maccosmetics.co.uk for £14.

Nailed: Orly Rage

I've been wanting to try Orly polishes for a while now but I had always been distracted by China Glaze and O.P.I.

The one shade that caught my eye the most was 'Rage', a gorgeous rose gold glitter mix. It's really unusual and has gorgeous hints of holographic.

Consistency is pretty average and easy to apply considering it has a hefty amount of glitter and the colour pay off is good, but I did apply two coats over my O.P.I Ridge filler to avoid it looking too sheer.

The true colour of 'Rage' is kind of hard to capture just because it is so metallic, it almost converts in to just pure shine in the light. This polish is a great way to subtly wear glitter, I can imagine that it would look great with a tan. This is my favourite polish at the moment and I can see myself getting a lot of use out of it.

You can get Orly polishes pretty much all over the place in the UK but your best bet would be to check online at feel unique.com for £8.99 and free delivery.

NEW L'Oréal Universal Lip Glow; Swatch and Review

As promised I shot out the door bright and early this morning to check out the new Chanel Spring Collection (yes, it was amazing and yes, my bank card is literally crippled!) but that wasn't the only thing that caught my eye..

I couldn't help but pick up the new L'Oréal Paris' Universal Lip glow. There was only one left, and this makes me want things even more!! This is the first lipstick that adapts uniquely to the moisture of your lips resulting in a tailor made and individual shade of pink, just for you. It gives a natural glow and feels light and non-drying.

The packaging is really cute and sleek too with a black case and pink lining. The lip colour (which is arguably more of a balm) looks totally unique and see-through, almost a fluro pink which is enough to put anybody off that doesn't know what it is but bright enough to catch every eye. This is due to the combination of two gelling agents and L'oréal chose to avoid wax in this product to make it feel even lighter on application.

Here it is on my hand, as you can see.. no colour change yet, still an iridescent glow. But as soon as it hits my lips, it's a different story..

Before

After

This was £8.49 from boots and I'm really glad I picked it up. It's pretty moisturising and gets 10/10 for the novelty factor but I'm still gonna be reaching for my MAC Hue, sorry L'Oréal!

Weekend Wants: Chanel's Spring Collection

I've caught glimpses of Chanel's new spring collection floating around cyberspace for longer than I would care to admit, but it's finally here. I feel ridiculous getting excited about spring corals and pinks while the days in England are struggling to reach 5°C. Any of you that follow my blog will no doubt know my (undying) love for Chanel cosmetics so I was right on this bandwagon and thought I would share my favourite pieces from the collection with you..

First up is the 'Le Vernis' Nail Colour in my favourite shade 535 'May'. The other two shades included in the collection are called 'April' and 'June'- how original. Anyway, this will set you back £17.50 for 13ml but I love it.

Next is the 'Blush Horizon De Chanel', a soft glow blush with 5 tones. This is supposedly inspired by the radiance and colours of the horizon as the sun rises and sets.. delightful. However, for £46 I'm trying hard to convince my student self that life will go on without it.. unlikely. :'(

Another worthy contender is the Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eyeshadow in 'Èclosion'. Beautiful natural shades jam packed with mineral pigments and purified oil for easy application and a gloss effect. This quad apparently doubles up and can be used as an eyeliner- and so it should for £37.. eek!

Lastly, I'm a sucker for lips and I have actually managed to whittle it down to just two favourites, yes two! Very difficult. On the left we have the Rouge Coco Hydrating Crème Lip Colour in 'Chalys' which as you can see is a gorgeous coral colour, too perfect to stay in the shop when it could be on my lips, mwahaha! On the right you will find the Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in 'Candeur', this is probably my favourite of the two because I love my pinky nudes. They are excellent for everyday wear and I love the hydrating factor that these little beauties promise. Each retail for £23.

I'm off to put my money where my mouth is and check these babies out in the flesh. But this is what happened last time I decided to do this..

Are you tempted?

MUA Purple Eye Dust

After being totally impressed/surprised at the quality of the cheapie MUA Heaven and Earth palette (£4!!) I went to have a look to see the other offerings my Superdrug had for me. There were a few eyeshadows I picked up that were really pigmented, but the one other product that really stood out to me was the selection of Eye Dust's they had. These are really similar to Barry M's Dazzle Dust, but only £1! Oh my god, I'm getting excited just writing this. These aren't going to break the bank which is fantastic for experimenting with new colours around your eyes when you're feeling brave to find out what suits you but don't want to be spending £20 on an eyeshadow, I'm looking at YOU Chanel!
I picked up a few colours but the Purple (Shade 2) had to be a sure winner.

It's my best friends birthday this weekend (HAAAAAY EMILY!) so I was experimenting with some different eye looks rather than my usual black smudge! These Eye Dusts are super pigmented, shimmery and easily blended but like all other loose eyeshadows- be prepared for a crap load of fall-out!!!

DiorSkin Forever; FOTD

Diorskin Forever was my first ever high end, luxury foundation. I remember getting it on my fifteenth birthday and being absolutely blown away to have something with a designer name on it (look at me now ;) haha, I'm totally kidding, I am an absolute tramp), but I believe that on that day, at that precise moment, my obsession began.

This is me today :) Hello! I am literally wearing the foundation and a bit of Benefit's Hoola and various black eye smudginess! I thought I would try this out again as I remember it giving excellent and flawless coverage. I don't usually wear much coverage in the day time, but this is my go-to if I'm going out in the evenings. It seems to last forever too. It retails for around £30 for 30ml and has spf 25. This is what the product looks like..

It comes in a lovely glass frosted bottle with a silver pump. It definitely outshines some of it's rivals, think Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in the little plastic boxy bottle!

This a picture of purely the foundation and some eye junk on, but on its own it does a top job! Covered up any blemishes, evened out my skin tone, however the shade was a 032, I must have got my last one in the summer! It seems a shame that I was only wearing this to walk the dog... haha!

The oh-so glamourous dog walker. Do you like my pink Hunters?!

I think someone did ;)

Hope you have all had a lovely Friday, well done for making it to the weekend!!!!!!
